William Franklin Smith
Mr.
Smith has served in vice president and director positions at both Fortune 500
companies and startup ventures. His expertise includes operations management
and business development with experience in multiple industries including
process and power, oil and gas, environmental, and computer hardware and software
systems. He was Executive Manager at GM’s Detroit Diesel and worked with
power generation for nuclear plants, chemical plants, and for the airports of
Saudi Arabia when cogeneration was in its infancy. He served as executive manager
and geophysicist at Intergraph Corporation where his responsibilities included
remediation for the Hanford Nuclear Site, for the decommissioned Navy bases,
and for the Rocky Flats Plutonium Site. A special project he worked on used
remote sensing technology to migrate Chevron geophysicists from exploration
to environmental applications.
Mr. Smith received his MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, a BS in Geophysics from the University of Arizona and a BA in International Relations from the Ohio State University. He is currently following his avocation of sailing and is the Captain of cruise ships in the San Francisco Bay area.
